Phase 1 of Woodland Dreams Project... Done!

Well I had such a great time doing the shoot on Saturday with Laura, she looked stunning and we really lucked out with the weather. It was looking decidedly dodgy in the morning but by Midday the sun came out for us and we couldn't have hoped for a better day. It was also good fun seeing the fisherman turn around and do a double take at seeing a fairy walk by them wishing them 'fairy blessings' haha

Here are a couple of sneak peeks of some of the shots that will be posted on the website shortly, however the majority of shots from the full shoot are going to be kept quiet until all phases of the full collection is ready, but I would love to know what you think so far...

New Collection Alert!

Hi everyone, I know I know I have been terrible lately in keeping updated, things have been manic, what with getting my gorgeous new garden done and housing in my new chickens I haven't known whether am coming or going!! However I am back in the fold now and looking forward to taking part in lots of new challenges.

I am also putting together a new photographic collection called 'Woodland Dreams' which my fab friend Laura is going to pose for the first set for on Saturday (weather permitting) so I will post a few of those once they're done. The next set for this collection will be done in mid-August time which my friend Tiago will be posing for, so am hoping for some cool shots so watch this space...

Round Robin Photo Challenge - Statues

This month's Round Robin Photo Challenge was Statues.

The first picture was taken in Paris at the Sacre Coeur. I have a real thing about gargoyles and was really gutted to have missed out on climbing to the top of Notre Dame to get up close to them all, but unfortunately we had all of our baggage with us that day - not good for climbing up 200 odd narrow steps!

The next two pictures were taken in Rome, the first is taken outside of St Peters in the Vatican and the second is a beautiful fountain outside the church which holds the famous 'mouth of truth' from the film Roman Holiday starring one of my idols Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

The last picture was taken at a museum in Istanbul and is of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. My husband is an avid historian and especially loves the Roman period and having seen this statue in many books was overjoyed at seeing it in person. I love the effect that the lighting has on the statute in this one.

I look forward to hearing your comments!

Brenda Photo Challenge - Flowers

This month's challenge over at The Brenda Photo Challenge was flowers.

Here are a few I have selected from both my archives and taken new especially for the challenge. Incidentally the last one is the image I used to design my friend's wedding invitations and they came out really well and have had some really good feedback on them which has really picked me up. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Am officially Published!!

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately but have been shut away editing the photographs from the shoot. I have now got the portfolio together for Laura and can't wait to see her reaction to the shots (hopefully she will like them!) Anyway am back in the loop now and ready for the next project.

Today is the day my winning photograph is published in PhotoPlus magazine, I am so excited and really proud of myself - I can't believe its in there am chuffed to bits! Here is a scan of the magazine cover and the article (please try and draw your attention away from the woman in her underwear - that one was nothing to do with me! haha)

Tim Burton-esque Photo Shoot... Done!

Well what a fantastic time I had on Saturday dressing up & photographing my fab friend Laura who kindly agreed to be my very own Tim Burton doll for the day!! We went out on location to an amazing 300 year old Oak tree to take some shots. I'm so pleased with how they've come out and have had a little play around with a few of them using Photoshop to get some good effects as well. Here are a couple of sneak previews I hope you like them and would love to hear your comments.

Incidentally, Laura makes her own greeting cards & jewellery and they are amazing. Check out her blog here

Brenda Photo Challenge - Lighting

This month's challenge over at Brenda's Photo Challenge (link HERE) was Lighting. I had planned to get out and get some new photographs for this one but things have been so manic I haven't had a chance. However looking through my archives these are two of my favourite photographs showing effects of lighting. The first one was outside the Roman Baths at Bath in Somerset and the second was the beautiful setting sun over the Serengeti in Africa. I hope you like them and look forward to hearing your comments.
